What’s Hopping in the Frog Room?

Announcements:

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME BACK!!!!


Snack: Please check the snack calendar to see when it is your child’s turn to bring morning snack.  If you cannot provide snack please let me know before your child’s snack day.

Monday:No School

Tuesday: Lake

Wednesday:  Allen

Thursday:Avery

Colt Corral: Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 3:05 in the gym.

Swimming:  Thursday, Jan 11.  Please make sure your child is wearing his/her swimsuit under their clothes and has a backpack with a towel and underwear.

Snow clothes:  Now that there is snow on the ground, please make sure your child has all 5 things: Winter coat, snow pants, snow boots, hat, and waterproof gloves.

Tennis shoes:  Please remember to bring gym shoes.  Your child can leave them here.  It is safer for your child and our gym floor to have athletic shoes instead of clunky, wet snow boots to run around in.

This week’s focus will be “Polar”: Please note that we will change our theme monthly.  Some weeks we will add or remove certain activities, but some will remain the same throughout the month.

Shape: Circle, square, triangle, rectangle

Number: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 0, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13

Social/Emotional Skill:  Naming Feelings

Table Time:  Puzzles, hot chocolate numerals, making designs

Centers:  Cubes and penguins, blocks and polar animals, floor puzzle, sensory bottles, “Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear” retell,”The Mitten” retell, polar felt stories, lacing cards, iceberg game, matching upper and lowercase letters, polar legos, and all table time activities

Dramatic Play:Igloo

Art: Snowflake handprints

Sensory Table: Water and polar animals

Gym: Freeze dance
